6 Red Hot Beverages for a Cool Summer

Refreshing drinks stand up to summer heat with fresh, fruity flavors

Specialty beverages were prominently on display in The Coca-Cola exhibit at the National Restaurant Show in Chicago in May. Attendees sampled thousands of refreshing drinks designed to give your guests the variety they desire along with unique and profitable solutions for your restaurant. We’ve got five beverage recipes that fit that bill—and stand up to summer’s heat.

Strawberry Colada Aguas Frescas
Bring a taste of the tropics to the table with a refresher made with Sprite® and Minute Maid® Smoothies Strawberry. A little coconut syrup gives it an island effect. The drink pairs beautifully with Asian and Latin foods, but it’s especially nice with seafood—boosting the notion of being on an indulgent vacation.

Tropical Colada
Fresh pineapple meets cream of coconut, Minute Maid Smoothies Banana, and Minute Maid Smoothies Mango in this tropical crowd-pleaser. Blended to perfection, it balances the heat of Asian and Mexican dishes, or list it on your menu as a dessert. Either way, think of it as a shortcut to a summer holiday.

Peach Melba Smoothie
Here’s a blended delight for all day parts—breakfast, brunch, snack time, even dessert. With a base of Minute Maid Smoothies Non-Fat Vanilla Yogurt, Peach Syrup, Raspberry Syrup, and ice come together for this creamy treat. Garnish with a peach slice and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Blackberry Sparkler
Summer is synonymous with barbecue, and this under-100-calories drink pairs perfectly with the season’s favorite proteins. Seagram’s Club Soda®, ZICO® Natural Pure Premium Coconut Water, and Sugar Free Blackberry Syrup comprise this cooler. You could mix things up by using mango, peach, pomegranate, or strawberry syrup instead.

Watermelon Lemonade
If there are any flavors more symbolic of summer than watermelon and lemonade, we don’t know what they are. And when Minute Maid Lemonade meets watermelon syrup, the results are a refresher that’s emblematic of the season. It pairs well with a variety of cuisines, adding a light touch to Italian, Mediterranean, and barbecue.
