NACS and CCRRC Playbook for Success

The NACS / Coca-Cola Retailing Research Council (NACS / CCRRC) has a powerful tool outlining a specific, customizable plan designed to drive growth for convenience retailers. “Playbook for Success: A Three-Step Guide to Growing C-Store Business” and an accompanying video are available as a free download at www.ccrrc.org.

“Operators of any size will find this guide to be an essential business resource,” says Bill Bishop, research director, NACS / CCRRC. “Based on in-depth research, the playbook helps retailers better align with and meet their customers’ needs.” Much of the content is based on the Council’s previously published report, “C-Growth: Using Shopper Research to Grow C-Store Sales,” which provides insights into what motivates shoppers to spend more money in convenience outlets. It also can be downloaded at no charge from www.ccrrc.org.

The 25-page document is formatted for a quick read, yet provides the details needed to take immediate action. Highlights include:

  • Brief survey enables retailers to determine where they stand in terms of serving their shoppers
  • Three-step approach to foster growth: Deliver on Core Needs, Defend Your Turf and Attract New Business
  • Insights into customer needs at each point, based on extensive shopper research

The accompanying video showcases Council members sharing their experience with developing the guide and explaining why it’s a valuable tool. This supplemental learning tool complements the playbook, orienting a retailer’s team to the opportunities.
